Paramotor Lessons in PANAMA With BlackHawk Instructor Joe Cruz!

Paramotor Adventures in Panama!

BlackHawk Head Instructor Joe Cruz jumped on a plane this month and headed to the beautiful country of Panama! Eagerly waiting was a group of students who began their great life-changing adventure of learning to fly a Paramotor! After the challenge of getting several BlackHawk Units and Velocity Gliders 2,182 MILES from US soil down to South America, it all began!

One-by-one, Adriana, Edgard, & Roberto began learning the basic parts of a Paraglider and how to safely “hook in” to their harnesses. Countless “ground handling” hours were spent on the beach until each student felt confident with their kiting skills. After that, they started learning about the various intricacies of the motor and how to conduct thorough pre-flight checks. It takes a lot of effort on behalf of both the Instructor and Students to make it all come together. Students learn at different rates and experience different challenges… A good Instructor takes note of each student’s progress – slowly refining the areas where they need improvement, and encouraging them the entire time.

After a few days, motors were warmed up, the Students strapped in to a Paramotor for the first time, and then “RUN RUN RUN!” What an amazing place to not only take your first Paramotor flight – on the coastline of Panama – but for an Instructor to fly with their students. This was yet another epic adventure to add to BlackHawk’s experiences over the years. Stay tuned for a video – showing what the experience was all about. Below are some teaser pictures. Enjoy and “blue skies” from all of us at Team BlackHawk!
