Exploring Wildfire Devastation in California Via Paramotor!

In this unique Paramotor video: members of Team BlackHawk explore the annihilated terrain left by one of the years worst wildfires. The Butte Fire raged so close to the BlackHawk Paramotor Ranch that it had all of us worried. Thank God the fire was eventually extinguished, however, many Calaveras County residents weren’t so lucky…

Team Paramotor Pilots took off from the BlackHawk Paramotor Ranch in late 2015 to explore the devastating aftermath of the Calaveras County Butte Fire. For weeks, the small town of Valley Springs and surrounding areas were engulfed in a haze of smoke. Each evening, local news reports continued to talk about the fire continuing to expand without containment. Many local residents lost their homes and countless lives were effected by this tragedy. Evacuation centers could be seen all over town and the damage caused by the fire will be seen for years to come.

Powered Paragliding is all about exploration! It allows Pilots to see parts of the world that would otherwise be inaccessible. This video is much different from our other exploration videos (like flying the beautiful coast), however, it’s another adventure for the books that our Team Pilots won’t soon forget.
